Verify authenticity of Ibanez

I'm looking to purchase this used Ibanez. The seller has been responsive and has 10 5 star ratings. I just like to be safe before making a purchase like this.. Guitar is being sold for $900CAD (around $720US), comes with a hard shell case and shipping is extra. There is a few chips in the finish, I didn't include those pictures.

I'm always super cautious when buying used stuff online, even when there isn't a reason to. I just like to be extra careful. If you could take a look at the info I provided and confirm that this is a real Ibanez.

This is a good place to start,,,,,,,just try to verify that the specs match-up with the model/years/finish-options,,,ect.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I found the exact model there with the same finish, looks the same as the listing. Compared the minor details like the headstock, truss rod cover, the location of everything on the guitar, etc. Looks good, just want some other opinions just in case. I'm a bit too cautious when buying used online haha.

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

I can't even find s-series prestiges with edge-pros (on the ibanezwiki I linked).

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

Awesome guitar!
The price seems a little high (compared to many craigslist steal-deals),,,,,,,but if the frets are still in great shape with no grooving and the guitar is minty then it's certainly not a bad deal.

Looks like a trem-stopper has been added at some point.

Really? For this model? I've been looking around for a while and this was the best deal I found. Most of them were $1500CAD and above.

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

I'm sure you're right for Canadian prices.
Usually I see prestiges go between $500-$700 here,,,,,but this isn't exactly a hotbed for superstrats lol (the rural midwest usa)

These were probably sold new around $1300usa +/- iirc,,,,,maybe $1399.

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

Oh okay. Yeah here in Canada these are around $3,000 new with and with tax. Finding good prices on gear here is a matter of being really patient and constantly searching through sites like Reverb.

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

Thanks for the reply. Do you know where I could purchase a tremolo arm for this type of guitar/bridge or what kind to get?

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

Be careful with that trem, I never liked them personally.

Ditch the extra "stop" piece, all you have are two springs. No way I'm a aware of to work around that. Too sloppy with just two springs.

Re: Verify authenticity of Ibanez

I was just looking at it thinking how i want a guitar like that when i realized i already basically do. :nana: That's a sabre right?
