Re: Very old pickup any idea's?

I'm guessing that the Epiphone guitar was either an archtop or a flat top with the pickup installed à la Gibson J-160E. Hence, the need for such long rod magnets.

Have any irreversible alterations been made to the guitar?

Just the original finish was removed but not by me! Who ever painted it blue and did this to a vintage guitar!

It's a lot worse then pic show's! I have stripped paint and shellack from neck.
Had to re-glue fingerboard due to lifting. I replaced the binding as well and refinished the head stockIMG_0984.jpg
