+1 on the amp first.
I've recently bought a micro terror and they are properly loud (I've got mine through a Blackstar 4x8 cab though) sounds great as well. with a proper valve in the circuit chain I'm sure you can get it with its own speaker as a bundle.
I'e got a valvetronix as well,they are good for the huge range of models it offers and was my first choice over the Line6 and Peavy, sounded better for cleans, the others to me in the shops were just variations on the high gain tones.
