I am slightly confused by the idea of getting a custom pickup that is "Duncan Designed."

It seems like it would be more trouble to get a custom pickup built overseas, than to just put it together in the custom shop in Santa Barbara.

Is it a marketing thing? "It's OK, kids of America, the guitarist from Seether plays DDesigneds, and he's your fave!"
