Been working a collection, hence I haven't posted any new songs lately...
Time to start sharing.
I don't know who grew up in this era, but I hope you dig this either way.

fun stuff! I don't remember that game having such majestic music, hehe. I thought yours was going to be kinda campy like The Minibosses (not that I don't like them), but it's quite the real deal. You did all those keyboards? Wow. This whole thing must have taken awhile - learning the tune, the drums, the recording. Worth it.

Any chance you are going to do some Street-Fighter tunes? Or perhaps Castlevania...

Wow, that just made me remember you had to use lead bubbles on Dr. Wily at the end of that level. I haven't played that game in 15 years.

Fan-****ing-tastic! I always played with the idea of covered some VG tunes but never committed past learning the basic melody. I like what the band Powerglove has done. Some great covers there.

Brass stays in pretty regular rotation on my iPod. I'd love a follow-up to that.

But back to the OP - GREAT JOB.

I grew up in the 8-bit and 16-bit era of video gaming, and many MANY of those tunes are still burned into my brain at the root level (and are in fact an influence to my own music in some ways).

I loved this. I'll probably listen to it one or two more times.

Really good solid phrasing and timing as well, and your fast, shallow vibrato is perfect for the feel of this arrangement.

I'll definitely want a copy of your full release once it's available.

I'd like to add that if I can make one request, I want someone to tackle the level themes from Super Dodge Ball from the NES. That's some of my favorite video game music ever.

Ooo I forgot to mention The Black Mages too... Mind you it's strictly Final Fantasy tunes but damn are they good. Nobuo Uematsu is even in the band. Authentic!

Definitely fun combining a few of the things i love;

I had both Street fighter- guile theme and a castlevania song on the roster, but they are in question. I do plan on putting out about 18-20 tracks, and some are medleys.
About halfway done, then ill master and put it out.

I most definitely look up to those that have come before me in the vg remix world;
but another main inspiration is the intent of the composer as well-
ya gotta think, they create a masterpiece, then drop it into smalltime midi format LOL
In some cases, just trying to bring out what i feel might be the composer's intent.
Maybe it is better seen in some of my Final Fantasy covers.

And TOTALLY didn't know NU was in the Black Mages....thats hardcore....
