Vintage amp info needed.

I just bought a 1970's Guya Tone GA940 Bass amp (45watt, 6L6 powered), on FB Market Place.
The seller claims the amp is in perfect working condition.
I could only find 2 YouTube clips of this amp, being played with a guitar, and that amp is slightly modded.
Does anyone have any experience with said GA940 amp ?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No expieriance. But if its a 1970 ask if its had the elctrolytic caps changed.
Its well due for a recap by now if they are original.
Old caps can cause hum. They can explode. They can short and take parts with them.
I saw one Sunn 200S were the filter caps oozed black spaghetti all inside the chassis.

Thank you . . . will look into that ASAP.

yes, thats basic vintage amp protocol. filter caps in the power supply need to be replaced as maintenance every so often. some say 20 years, some say longer, but for a 1970 amp itll need it if it hasnt been done. i dont replace other components unless they need it

Thank you for the heads up ;)

You have to look at the amp first and listen to it. Most probable it uses a cap can, which are some caps in one housing. Then you should where to buy that specific cap can. If they are out of production, you need to look for a suitable substitute (little higher or lower caps with a sufficuent voltage rating) or you have to build an extension board with some axial single caps.

What's a good place to order those filter caps?
If you order caps I recomend F&T. They are nice caps. About the highest quality today. IMO
Befor you go routing around in there. LEARN HOW TO DISCHARGE THE FILTER CAPS!!! If you dont allready know.
THEY CAN KILL YOU!! Even when the amp is unplugged.
Even after dicharging I recomend keeping them aligator clipped to ground while you work.
