i just bought a new strat from warmoth. its alder with a koa top. i bought it with the vintage flat mount hardtail bridge. i also have a squier strat. when i put the bridge, neck and high e string on, the string was off of the fretboard by the 12th fret. the only way it stayed on was when i tilted the saddle almost to a 45 degree angle. is there another bridge that will fit the holes without modification that is thinner?
here is the link to the bridge i own now.

Your neck probably is the culprit. Loosen the four screws holding it on just enough to shift the neck a bit until the six strings are centered on the fingerboard. Then tighten it down again real good. Lew

That used to happen with my old '73 Strat with the three screws. I think I finally got it into the correct position and used a shim to keep it there.
