went over to the girl's Mom's house for Holiday Dinner

and her Mom pulls out her "Fender" jacks into an Old Maestro Amp
and Jams
it sounded great
I couldnt believe the tone she got from that little 10 watt SS 70's amp

All that is good about a Fender Mustang without the atrocious vibrato/tailpiece contraption.

Those are *****in' little guitars. I'd love to get myself a red one some day, from before the headstock got big.

Some earlier models came with an even shorter scale length than 24" (22.5" or something like that). One of those would be fun.

Fender Duo Sonic, Mustang and Musicmaster pickups had closed top plastic covers and, of necessity, polepieces flush with the vulcanised fibreboard bobbin plate.

Even when Fender Stratocaster pickups have equal length rod magnets, they protrude above the bobbin surface.

Velvet Hammer replacement pickups for Stratocaster were supplied with closed plastic covers. Despite this, their rod magnets protruded far enough that, under regular Stratocaster pickup covers, they would have looked normal.
