Let's see some vintage gear. Guitar ,Amps I guess anything guitar related .

Here are my two . A 1966 harmony rocket h54 and a 1979 Mesa boogie maek2a. The harmony is mostly original besides the bridge and tuners . And the mesa is going for a tube and cap job in two weeks. The 15" electro voice speaker is mint

Re: Vintage gear thread

I'll get pics of my old stuff when I get back home, but off the top of my head, I have:

*Fender Bassman Export head (early silverface)
*1981 Hamer Special
*1991 Fender MIJ '62RI Strat
*1992 Fender MIJ '69RI Thinline Tele
*70's Alvarez acoustic
*'65 Fender Musicmaster
*Seymour Duncan 1x1w Combo amp
*'77 Fender strat body with an old Am Std neck.

Re: Vintage gear thread

I have some old stuff- acoustics from the late sixties/mid-seventies and some early '80s G&Ls...

But I think only my '66 Mustang comes close to 'vintage' era. It's a refin, with original or same-era vintage bridge, vibrato, neck, body, and newer pickguard, pickups, tuners, plate controls etc. I have a vintage (beat) pickguard not installed:

'66 Fender Deluxe with all-original glass (Mullard, Telefunken, Bugle Boy, RCA, Amperex) and original amp cover:

And it sounds like this:

i have a '66 deluxe reverb which i love but its seen a lot of miles, no fancy cover with mine though. mighta helped keep it looking better :D

Re: Vintage gear thread

Love how so far everyone so far has '65/'66 Fender products. As if something happened to cause anything older to somehow be more valuable ;)

Re: Vintage gear thread

No pix at the moment, but as "old" stuff goes, I have:

'27 Martin 00-28K2, with very old (at least 50 years ago – probably more) conversion from Hawaiian guitar to standard guitar.
'60's Gibson B-25B acoustic (converted to slide only – might be getting electrified in the future)
'63 or so Gibson GA-5 Skylark amp, with recent repairs, including non-original speaker
'68 Gibson SG Standard, all original
'68 Gibson ES-330, all original
'68 Guild T-100D Slim Jim, all original
'68 Guild F-50 maple jumbo, non original tuners (old '70's Grovers instead – nice) – second best acoustic I've ever played
'68 Fender Princeton Reverb, all original except for re-coned speaker and external speaker jack converted to line out.
'69 or so Ampeg B-42X Jupiter tall 4x12 guitar cab with original Ampeg dolly
'70's Thomas Norwood dreadnaught (D-35 style), Brazilian rosewood, ebony board, flame maple binding – best sounding acoustic I've ever played
'70 or so Ampeg B-25B 2x15" bass cab
'75 Ampeg V-4 with single 4x12 cab
'76 Fender Musicmaster Bass (one of my main gigging instruments)
'77 Music Man Stingray bass with '80 Sabre fretless neck (the instrument I learned music on)
'70's Crybaby
'70's EHX Big Muff Pi
'70's MXR Phase 90
'70's or '80's DOD Preamp 250
And a few ultra cheap instruments as well, like a weird Vietnamese Phung-Dinh acoustic from the U.S. war era, a broken-assed old tenor guitar, a plastic banjo, etc.

My '83 Gibson black beauty might count by now. It's about 35 years old.
I don't think my '84 Fullerton AVRI or my '85 MIJ Strat really count. It's really odd to think that they are 30+ year old guitars now!

Re: Vintage gear thread

Only vintage gear I have is a 1979 Guild 212XL. Its in the shop right now getting basically redone (neck reset, new frets, refinish) but is the best sounding 12 String I've ever played.

Re: Vintage gear thread

I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow if it's not raining.

1962 Gibson Les Paul/SG
1951 or so Gibson ES-175
1987 Fender American Standard Strat
1971 or so Fender Super Reverb

There's a local blues rock guy named Eric Jerardi, who rolls out some really sweet stuff for his gigs. '62 Strat, '60 Tele, '64 Super Reverb, original Tubescreamer & Phase 90... some choice ****.

Re: Vintage gear thread

Since the age to classify vintage is 25 years, here's what I have.

1988 Kramer Baretta. Painted by Dennis Kline. Found it in a shop in 1995 or so.

1993 Frankenstrat. Warmoth Pro neck, Chandler body. Was assembled in November 1993.

Re: Vintage gear thread

Well, nothing I have is really that old. But I do have a 1982 'The Strat', which is stock and still in great condition.

Re: Vintage gear thread

1969 era Harmony Stella 12-String. The Peg head was cracked lengthwise along the treble side. a gaping crack on the top along the low E. The neck was reset, and some fresh lacquer. Plays like a champ now!

Re: Vintage gear thread

Some cool stuff here. I especially love that Harmony Rocket in the 1st post. Maybe because I'm an old-ish guy, I have a hard time wrapping my head around anything from the 80's or 90's being vintage. But I don't make the rules. ;)

Anyway, the only thing I have that I'd call really vintage is my early 60's Dano Bellzouki 12-string. (In serious need of a resto.)

Thank you . I was shocked when he messaged me about it. I was after it for 9 or more years. And having a guitar that is almost twice my age is pretty cool too .

Re: Vintage gear thread

Nice persistence. I normally think of Harmony guitars as cheap-ish acoustics. But that one is super cool.

i wanted a fender reverb amp bigger than the blues jr i was using, i paid like $600 for my dr and have had it for 14+ years. its just an amp. a great amp, but still just an amp. i dont need a collector piece, i need a reliable gigging amp that gives me what it need

Re: Vintage gear thread

For sure. Silverface is a great value. Love mine as well (late seventies so didn't think to include here.)

Edit- guess it wouldn't be Silverface actually...
