Vintage Rails in Super Strats?

Hello everyone.

What are y'all's thoughts on using a pair of Vintage Rails in the neck and mid of a super strat-ish guitar?

I have a Floyded Godin that's in need of new pickups in the neck and middle. I've never tried the VR's, but I like the look as well as the idea of having zero noise. I use a Cool Rails in the neck of a Squier '51, but I think it may be a little too dark for the Godin, as it's a Gibson scale, single cut guitar.

It currently has a Custom 5 in the bridge, but I'm not in love with it. It may be that the scooped nature of the C5 doesn't get along well with the mostly maple construction.

I own a Jackson DK2 with Full Shred trembucker in the bridge, a Vintage Rails in the middle and a Cool Rails in the neck. The VR is a really low output pickup, so since it doesn't match my FS, no way it will balance with the C5 you own.

I don'tI mind the vokume imbalance, but others may not like it.

The VR is bright and vintwgey (hence the name), but does clean and gainy tones very well. For high gain, the CR is better suited for that.

Yes, it is a very low output pickup. It is perfect in a set of other VRs, or as a 'preset' cleaner, low output pickup to switch to. If you want a louder stratty pickup to balance with other pickups, and still want hum-cancelling, look at the Classic Stack instead.
