Vintage Rails neck/bridge question

Hi,
I have a SVR1b that i want to put in the middle position of an alder strat style guitar. I know that generally you would use a neck specific model for the middle (eg SVR1n) so wondered if anyone can advise the difference between the two, would it just be an output issue (these are lower output anyway) or something else. thanks

Re: Vintage Rails neck/bridge question

I have a SVR1b in the middle position. The output is noticeably lower than the bridge (hot rails) and neck (cool rails), spurring an imbalance of output. If SVR1n is lower in output, I reckon it is recommended to have SVR1b in the mid.

Re: Vintage Rails neck/bridge question

Bridge pickups are generally wound to have a little more output. Not sure what other pickups are using, but if you have a 4 conductor version of VR's you can try series wiring of the coils for more power/mids.
