Vintage Stack Bridge for Tele ...which colour lead is hot for top coil?

I recently posted this diagram (top) for auto-splitting a bridge stacked humbucker using standard 3-way switch at middle.

But SD Support says the bottom schematic is correct wiring to have bridge stack's top coil active in middle switch setting.

Does this mean Red leadis hot for the top coil; and Black is 'hot' for lower coil?

I'd try a more empirical method, connecting directly the two jack wires to the single bobbins, the louder is the top I guess
