Vintage V62 Telecaster

I saw one of these for 200 bucks at a local shop. It's an alder body with a maple neck. It's either this or the much more pricier fender telecaster with a basswood body.

I got nothing against basswood, in fact I have a Fernandes TEJ with a basswood body which is amazing at producing a modern, muscular, smooth tone. And that is exactly what I'm NOT looking for in my next tele.

Im looking for a classic bluesy and twangy sound.Has anybody here have any experience with this guitar .If so, I would like to hear your feedback. Thank you.

Re: Vintage V62 Telecaster

That brand and series is something of a budget affair. Some of the Wilkinson hardware and pickups are passable rather than outstanding. So long as the frets are nicely levelled and dressed, the guitar will be playable.

How nice the guitar sounds will depend, in part, on your amplification.

Might have to pass on that, passable is not good enough, that would mean changing pickups, tuners,or pots somewhere down the line (which I don't mind) but I don't have that kind of cash right now. Lol

I'd rather look for something with a poplar body.
Boom. I have a Bacchus tele with a poplar body and dimarzio tk neck and chopper t bridge with a vintage brass saddle.Man it rocks. It's like alder with a with more warmth and slight softer attack and nice mids. It can seriously rock.
