Hey guys has anyone ever ran a V30 with a G12M before? I have a 4x12 cab with greenbacks (sounds great tired of hauling it) and a 2x12 cab with V30 speaker (also sounds good) I like certain things about both so I wanted to know if anyone has combined the two speakers in a 2x12 before. How did it sound? Did the V30 over power the greenback?

I'll be fair with you, I haven't tried them in a 2x12. 4x12, yes. It works for lower powered gear. You can hear both of them. In my case, the V30 provided some body and the greenback provided a little sparkle. Best way I could describe such a combination.

Matchless does it in almost all of their 2x12 combos.

I always heard it was a Greenback and a Vintage 30...I got that info from a long time Matchless dealer I used to gig with a fair bit.
He has owned more than a few Matchless amps so I have to trust him...

Good combi, one of my mates have that in a cab.
Sweetens up the V30.

that's why I prefer the V30/G12H30 combination- those speakers were made for each other, IMO

Again, Matchless does it with good results...
I also have a 2x10 combo, mismatch speakers...one is 99db the other is 96db...
I have a budy that runs 2x12's with Celestion Golds in one side (100db) and Greenbacks (97db) in the other...
Just sayin'...

Sounds good in a 4x12 and should sound good in a 2x12 as well!
