I agree, VC's riff writing is superb, as well as being influential.
Lynch is a god, and no comparison should be made between GL and VC!
I totally agree here. I still listen to Holy Diver and The Last in Line often and came to realize that I like VC's riffing and guitar tone much more than his solo efforts. The vocals and drums are pretty happening, too. I Speed at Night and Stand Up and Shout are two of my favorites for fast riffing. All that said, if I could play half as well as VC, I'd be a happy man.

GL is probably my biggest influence (along with EVH). Favorite Dokken song and solo: Unchain the Night. Perfect blend of speed, phrasing, whammy, and ultra-sustaining vibrato with ungodly tone! Did he do that with a DD or JB? Awesome stuff really. :32:

No argument there! One of my favourite bands is Venom and you'd be hard pressed to find a single note (or kick drum) in its proper place in that band :laugh2:

Oh man, I LOVE Venom!!! The best "worst" band in the world!! Everything out of tune, out of time, but somehow they made it work.

Cheers,

CJ

Re: Vivian Campbell

After a show one night on the "Last in Line" tour, I asked Vivian what kind of pickup he was using and he said a Seyour Duncan Custom. I went out the next day and got a Custom. I've had it ever since, except last month I traded the ceramic magnet to Theodie for an Alnico2 to make a custom-custom. His tone was awesome with Dio. For anymore info about Viv, pm me or reply.
