Volume control bright caps

I've been tinkering with my Traynor YBA-1 lately. Reduced the value of the bright cap on channel two's volume control to 100pF. This tamed the ultra brightness of the stock setup. But I found channel one to be too dark/undefined/lifeless/whatever you want to call it, and it was a bit quieter than channel two. So I added a .047uF "bright cap" to channel one. Now channel one has more clarity more highs and high mids...and it's louder than channel two. I don't get it. Shouldn't the .047uF bypass a much wider range of frequencies than the 100pF effectively making the 100pF channel sound brighter?

Re: Volume control bright caps

It sounds like that IS what is happening.
0.047 mics is Way Bigger than 100 pics.
Assuming all else is equal.....At lower volumes, I would expect the 0.047 channel to be louder and sound Fuller/Brighter than the 100 pF channel.
