Volume difference between Alnico 5 vs alnico 8 screamin demon???

I have an alnico 8 demon in the bridge of a floyd rose super strat and an alnico 5 screamin demon in the neck. The volume difference isnt that noticeable. I have adjusted the height for optimum response and it sounds good but I wanted to know if alnico 8 magnets made a huge difference in output? I ask because I just wanted to make sure I put the alnico 8 magnet in correctly. Sometimes I want more power in output

Neck position is A LOT louder than bridge, them being equally loud *is* the mag volume differential

Hence the usual tradition of running a hot wind in the bridge and a vintage wind in the neck

Yeah that's true, I raised the bridge pickup a lot to get the volume close to match the neck. I guess I was expecting a bit more from the output. The pickups are equal in volume. I am starting to wonder if I need to upgrade to a higher output pickup/pickups

Yeah you could go to a hotter bridge. Another option to get things to balance better would be to go to a Full Shred neck which is cooler and put a 2x thick A8 in the Demon which would make it hotter.

interesting, I'll have to check out a double thick alnico 8, haven't heard of that until now.

The full shred neck pickup is a little less output than the Screamin' demon neck?

No prob! Yes, the Full Shred neck is lower output than the Screamin Demon.

I adjusted the height of both pickups so the neck and bridge are equal in volume output and it is a usable tone for what I play. the bridge pickup is considerably higher. I think I just need more BEEF in over tone lol

No prob! Yes, the Full Shred neck is lower output than the Screamin Demon.

dude after reading about it, I kinda want a set of Full Shred pickups, the neck pickup sounds right up my alley.

The Full shred neck is a modded jazz neck so quite low output , the Demon has more juice in the neck position .
As for your Demon 8 in the bridge it has a balanced output with the neck , but even with A8 it is still a Demon ,
not a distortion class pickup .
So either you get an OD or DS before the preamp to have a nice distorted tone with definition , response and clarity ,
or you try a hotter pickup , and then I highly recommend the Duncan Custom ( ceramic magnet ) for evil tone with definition and punch as well .

After looking at the full shred and thinking about why I started this post(needing more beef in the bridge) I was thinking of the Custom or the custom/59 hybrid.

If the Demon in the bridge is too low-output, I think you want something from the Custom family.

The Alternative 8 , like a JB or a Distortion , will be more compressed than the Custom .

I ended up getting a Set of Dimarzio Breeds for the guitar, I heard they are discontinued by Dimarzio and ended up getting a set. I'll give update when I get the guitar back from the shop.

Put some Breeds in the guitar and the differences are:

More output
very articulate harmonics
Coil tap is stronger in output

similarities are

Bright PAF Tone
Open sound
