Volume/Impedance/WTF Matching

The PA will be completely dialed in for acoustic guitar players.

I will have to plug my guitar or pedalboard or DI into the 1/4" guitar chord (not XLR) to the PA that the acoustic players have been using. I have to play electric without the sound man having to make any adjustments on his end. At the very most, he can adjust the volume slider but it will be best if he does not make any adjustments to the gain setting.

The question is: What are my options for
#1 getting a decent, believable, amped guitar sound
#2 having everything matched up that needs to match to make it work

I would prefer running running electric Guitar > Pedals > PA, but don't know how to make that work. I am looking for an analog solution if one exists.

wait... they have a sound man but he doesnt want to touch anything? wtf good is he?

if you have a pedal that has a cab simulator or something similar then you could use your preferred setup. that will allow you to adjust the volume and tone so the sound guy doesnt have to GASP!!! touch a knob

The problem is that it is a very low tech venue and the person running the board is really just there to turn mute a channel when it's time for someone to unplug. I was being generous by calling him a sound man. I think it is his powered mixer and the club's mains. He's not there to fine tune everything to suit the ten or twelve players that will take the stage on a given night.

anyway... are you using a multi effects pedal or a few stomp boxes?

The PA/mixer channel will be expecting a line level signal. Most multi-effector units have a means to select this globally - either a physical switch on the back panel or a system parameter.

+1 for loudspeaker emulation of some sort.

He also takes his turn on stage, but otherwise he sits by the board with a mic so he can introduce the players.

I have owned two digital multi-effect pedals. I gave the first away and the second I bought so I could play in a church where amps were not allowed. I won't play there anymore.

I use pedals ... all analog stomp boxes except for the EHX C9 and an El Capistan. I guess I should have started this thread in the pedal room.

Will something like the Sans Amp Para Driver DI (V2) be a solution?

One (haha) more question: Should the Sans Amp be last in the chain? The reason I am asking is that I intend to use a looper also.
