Volume pickup changed to tone after pickup change

Hello I have installed a new Seymour Duncan Pickup I have soldered the Green n Bare to the bottom of the Volume pot the black to the end connection of the 3 way blade switch and the red and white are soldered together and taped off with electrical tape

Anyone have any idea where I went wrong
this was on a ESP LTD M-50

Welcome to the forum!

Can you post pics? What diagram are you using? The wires coming off of the pickup are correct, so something might be going on somewhere else (provided the pickup is working).

Ground connection the last lug on the pot is often a source for such an issue.
