Volume pot problem: taper (doesn't do much until 2 or 1)

The pot in another guitar worked fine, but now it doesn't change much to the volume until it reaches about 2 or 1, then cuts abruptly. I'm thinking I need to swap out the wiper and resistor wires?

Get yourself an audio pot. Your's seems to be a linear one.

You're testing without high gain on, right?
