volume, tone pots problem

hi after i unsolder and solder the pups back :

the pots can still rotate even its on "10" if i use some force.

how can i fix this? :saeek:

If you mean the knobs themselves - are they plastic? If so did you solder with the knobs on the guitar? You could have melted the inside of the knobs a bit so that they no longer bite the pot shaft.

If it is truly the pot it is just easier to replace them than to open them up and fix unless it is a vintage piece.
