Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

I saw a broken Sparkle Drive for $50 shipped on H.C. The seller told me it works but will not pass any signal when bypassed. I snapped it up knowing that there is a known failure issue with the proprietary switch which solders to the PCB.

Like this one:
This being the only place besides VL that you can find them.

Before buying one I emailed Harmony Ellis who is the Office Manager @VL. She said she would have it repaired and sent back to me as long as it has not been modded. The only thing I would have to pay is shipping to their Santa Rosa factory. She gave me and RMA number and I mailed it out today.

So in about 3-4 weeks I'll have working sparkle drive for less than $60 all in.

Great Support and prompt email response for a bigger company. The same cannot be said for Barber Electronics and my broken Direct Drive which has lost 95% of its output suddenly. They have not even responded to my emails.

Buy with confidence knowing Voodoo Lab backs their products and takes great care of their customers.

Re: Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

quite a few people have had the same level of service from them, myself included.

Re: Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

FYI, you can buy those switches at just about any electronics supply store. I wouldn't consider them "proprietary". My local electronics shop sells them, and so does Pedal Parts Plus and a few other online dealers.

The FTL Drive's channel switch is one of those, actually.

Anyway, that's really awesome that they're doing that for you no charge.

Re: Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

thanks for the info. I had a hard time finding those switches based on the model number markings. good to know they are available elsewhere.

Re: Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

I had a similar experience with them. The switch on my Sparkle "Spina" Drive crapped out so I emailed them. Harmony wrote back to send the pedal to them or they could send the switch to me. 3 days later I had a new switch in the mail and the Sparkle was back up and running. Great customer service @ Voodoo!

Re: Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

I have been contemplateing useing Voodoo Labs for an amp mod I want done. However I was unsure what to expect from these guys. Thnx for the heads up review. I have an amp and a peddle they claim they can modify so this pushes me over the edge to get it done without worrying what to expect from this company.

Re: Voodoo Lab Customer Support Review.

I got it back 3 days ago. the printout inside confirms that the switch along with H11 were replaced and then the pedal checked out OK.

$50 for the pedal and $10 to ship it to VDL=$60 and a great customer support experience.

Still stuck in the mud with my broken Barber Direct Drive however.
