Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 & 24 volt Deluxe Memory man

I've had a PedalTrain and Voodoo Lab Pedal Power for the last 3 or 4 years but never got around to setting everything up.

I want to use this order:

Teese Wah Wah
Analogman KoT
EH Memory Man Deluxe
TC Chorus in stereo powering two amps

I'm not sure where to plug in the TC Chorus. Next to the power cord there's an outlet but it'd be nice to hide the cord.

Looks like i need a voltage doubling cable from Voodoo Lab to power my 24 volt Memory Man. Can I just make one instead? If so, how?

I'll have to reset two of the little voltage selector switches to get 24 volts. Switching the little switches UP makes two of the outputs 12 volts instead of 9 volts. I believe the voltage doubling cable connects two outputs in series. 2 x12 volts in series = 24 volts.

Can someone walk me through this? I've never set up a powered pedal board before.

Thanks!

How about me making my own voltage doubling cable? I'm fine with cutting up a cable or two and putting it back together. Anyone done that?

Here's what Voodoo Lab says I'll need: Deluxe Memory Man
To power your Deluxe Memory Man (24V version) use any 2 of Pedal Power 2 Plus outputs 1 - 4, DIP switches set AWAY from NORMAL and a voltage doubler reverse polarity 2.5mm cable (red/black connectors part#PPEH24, price: $6.00ea.).

I thought that might be easier than trying to explain the same thing in written words!

Outputs 1 thru 4 on the PPII+ can be set up for PSA or ACA Boss pedals, the older (ACA) Boss pedals ran on a 9 volt battery but the ACA power supply was actually 12 volts so chaining 2 of the outputs 1 thru 4 together will give you 18 volts or 24 volts depending on the dip switch settings.

Ya know...you've been flipping a lot of dip switches lately!!!

Flippin' Out you might say. I got it all figured out and made my own Voltage Doubling Cable. Cut a cable in half and stripped the ends and then plugged the plug ends into the Voodoo. Flipped the two switches up. Then got out my multimeter and tested the voltage in series. Came up 24 volts. Then I cut another cable in half and attached it to the other two, keeping them in series. Didn't work! Had to reverse the center wire and ground once to get it to light up the Memory Man, but then itdid. Soldered it all together and taped it up and it works fine.

So you're ready to go now!

You about have the rig ready to roll or is there more to go???

Yeah...nice and simple. Just the T.C. Electronics Stereo Chorus, Deluxe Memory Man and King of Tone on a small PedalTrain board with the Voodoo power supply.

The T.C. Chorus splits the signal in stereo and sends it a Princeton Reverb and Deluxe Reverb in stereo. It's totally majestic sounding with the stereo chorus engaged. I like playing some folksy sounding guitar through that effect.

I removed the Teese Wah Wah. It was in the way.

But with two amps in stereo that's a great sounding little rig. Maybe the best sound I've ever had.

Wow...no wah?!

I always take a wah...I only use it a few times a night but I always have one with me.

I think I'll give the space to my Verbzilla so I can add reverb when I want to play through two tweed amps. I'd like to plug my lap steel into this rig and hear my Harvard and Gibson GA20 in stereo!

Nice!

Besides...a wah can always go on the ground off the board. I run my wah and Fuzz Face like that with my small board!
