Voodoo Labs Superfuzz...any thoughts?

Re: Voodoo Labs Superfuzz...any thoughts?

Thinking of putting together a 'mini-board', so the Superfuzz will be joined by a Plexitone prototype that is single-channel with a boost, and a little Marshall Regenerator modulation pedal. All into my JTM45 Reissue...should be fun! :D

Cool. Hope you like it.

Whenever you have time, I would like to hear about it.

Well, I guess I'll find out as I just snagged it! :)

good score. I have one too - my second one. It has a bunch of sounds in it. Very useful, and stacks well in a chain. Not a fuzz face, and not a distortion, but a great versatile tone machine that works great with a variety of amps. Much more defined and nuanced than a muff.

Cool unit...based on the old Boss Tone.

Having owned a Jordan Bosstone and a Voodoo Lab Superfuzz, they are similar but not the same.

The Jordan Bosstone was a crazy fuzz box that plugged into the guitar’s output jack and was capable of very pleasant hominid overtones with a distinct fuzz edge to it.

The Voodoo Lab Superfuzz is claimed to copy it, but is different and can be easily controlled with a sweet (Less crazy) fuzz the to it.

Both are nice toys to enjoy and either should have a place on the pedal board.

Re: Voodoo Labs Superfuzz...any thoughts?

If it's anything like the Bosstone, it's gonna be great. I used the Bosstone all the time back in the 60's. It was a fuzz for sure, but also acted like a treble booster. I got some really amazing sounds out of it. I still have it, but haven't played it for 40 years. Now I'm really hyped to dig it out and play it again. I guess I'll put it through its paces this weekend. Also my original Maestro Fuzz which I haven't played since the Stones first recorded Satisfaction.
