I'm aware of that. But a P-Rail is a hybrid when it's in humbucking mode. You still get the same effect. Maybe wire it in parallel to better match the 59/C.

I totally get where you're coming from, and you're correct.

However, the P-Rail is a more drastic "hybrid" than what most people are seeking with the '59/Custom Neck idea and the unique look of the P-Rail, though subtle, still tends to scare off a lot of purists.

I'm a big P-rail fan, so I totally get what you're suggesting.

For me this is a bit of apples and oranges. The prails IMHO is not optimized for series mode. It’s very hot in series (IMHO) because the P90 only sound has to be beefy.

The hybrid design we’re talking about is optimized for series mode. With a decent output single coil sound but not super hot.

I did think about asking for a neck prails that had the P90 tapped for half the output to use when in series. But then I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t that curious to spend Custom Shop money on that.
