Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

yeah I try to avoid tone suck since I have about 14 pedals on my board lol (yeah I know I have issues)

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

I didn't know there were other reverb pedals other than the Holy Grail.

You use a Grail? I've been thinking about a new reverb pedal, but I was kind of ignoring the Grail for some reason. If you use it, then I probably like it. How does it sound at more extreme settings for more atmospheric shoegaze-y, post rock-y weirdess?

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

Line 6 Verbzilla Have it & love it! Seeing that it is the ONLY reverb pedal I have ever used(I normally use Fender amps) it is the only one I can compare. But I also have a 67 or8 Deluxe Reverb & Super Reverb & I think this sounds almost as good as they do.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

am I the only one that thinks that demo is awesome? the other pedals we've mentioned aren't bad but this one to my ear just seems more authentic sounding.

I'm with you. PGS does some pretty cool demos and that reverb is awesome. A long time ago I saw a surf band's guitarist use a reverb head called a Surf O Matic and it was the best surf sound I've ever heard. Never been able to find one online.

Watch old beach boys vids on youtube...fender reverb is pretty hard to replicate..I think they sometimes used oil can reverb units but not sure.

It can get as extreme as you want. You'd dig Flerb setting them. Flanged reveb - pretty unique, and extremely atmospheric. NOT flange + reverb....

cuz I've watched the maleko, spring theory, wampler, boss fender reverb, hall of fame, verbzilla, holy grail, etc.

I keep coming back to the wampler, I love my Ego Compressor so I'm really tempted to just pull the trigger I'm just bummed that my local Sam Ash and Guitar Center don't really carry the higher end pedals I shop for I think this is a case tthat auditioning would be helpful and even though PGS would let me return I'd still love to A/B these with my amp, with my guitars, side by side.

Me too. Haven't noticed any issues with tone suckage either.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

well maybe I will have to see if someone locally has a verbzilla I can try out because the octo setting would be fun to have around (not to mention the others)

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

You know you want the spring theory. It has an infinite setting, nothing is cooler than an infinite setting

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

I think I am going to order the Wampler Faux Spring, I just wasn't convinced based on demos online that any other option was subjectively better for what I'm seeking

No, you're the only one who watched it since we're all too lazy to click the link. Just quote me if you want to learn how to embed.
