An Antiquity bridge in my old PRS SE through the crunch channel of the Yamaha THR10 had a hint of that vowel-y sound that the OP spoke of. I think it had more to do with the amp than the pickup, but it was more vowel-y than the 498t I had. The Ant sounded particularly great whenever I played Bring It On Home by Zeppelin.
