vox AD30VT tube?

I have a vox ad30vt hybrid amp (12ax7 tube used as power amp), i was wondering if anyone knew what kind of tube it comes with stock and if there is a better sounding replacement tube? Thanks!

i have one, but i dont know if getting a new tube will make it sound better since its practically all solid state.

Well, I've heard many accounts of people putting marshall 12AX7's in and getting, to quote "Thousand times better tone."


But i wasn't sure so i wasnt going to tell someone to run out and buy some marshall tubes.

As long as it doesnt hurt the amp, and its only one tube, its not too much trouble to try.

When it needs replacing i'll find a nice tube to put in it.

I agree - it sounds great the way it is. It's just i heard ppl that gave it crap reviews and that it sounds way better with vintage tubes. BTW, what brand of 12ax7 does Marshall typically use?

I thought they made their own tubes, Im pretty sure the tube in it has the name VOX on it, not sure if its made by vox tho.
