Hi...I consider buying one of them. The most important thing is natural sound to me.. the second important thing is compressed lead sound which aren't being included marshall avt series (I think this way) I can't get further than AC/DC sound without using extra distortion or compression stuffs. which one do you recommend ? and do you know where are these amps made ?
I wish got a peavey bandit which is highly recomended but that brand isn't here......

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

Dunno about the Vox, but my Roland has to go to a considerably high volume to get good distorted tones. If you plan to use it as a practice amp on your bedroom, try the Roland Cube 30. If you're gonna jam and gig with it, get the 60.

That said, I've never tried the Vox so I can't compare them. Hope I could help. If you have any doubts feel free to ask!

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

Ive got the Cube 60, i'd recommend it. But if you want a real amp, id say go tube for a little more. Im looking at a crate Palomino. Great amp. 112, 15 watts class A tube. I wish i had gotten it a while ago instead of the cube. The cube is great, plenty loud for gigs, versitle for practice. But you arent getting any real tone from it or the VOX. For roughly the same price (or cheaper on Ebay) you can get a decent tube amp, which are gonna want in the long run.

save yourself the GAS and go tube!!

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

you'd be better off with the vox, but i personally like the marshall hybrids better.

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

I think the vox amps sound a little more like authentic tube amps, and has better models, but I like the sound and simplicity of the cube amps too. I have both. If I had to choose, it would be the ad50vt.

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

I have owned a cube 60, 30 and microcube and the vox ad15vt.

the vox will definitely produce more natural tones but i found mine to be very bassy and very very loud and that was just the 15 watt version.

for bedroom volumes the microcube is my favourite cube.

i own the bandit and to me it is better than both the cube and the vox but if you can't get them where you live then thats too bad. the rolad cubes and the vox vt series are very good amps however. i'd go for the vox , i think it has a power attenuator or something aswell? mine didn't but the bigger one do. its definitely the better sounding amp tonally although for metal the differences is much smaller. the cube might even be slightly better for heavy metal but thats a matter of opinion.

the vox also also allows you to save settings and gives you more control over the effects. I vote the vox!

You might also want to look into the nex Vox Valvetronix XL line. They have more high gain models. I would avoid the AD30VT and the AD15VTxl, those 10 inch speakers in those cabinets don't sound as good as the other sizes with 8 or 12 inch speakers. Just my opinion though.

While I've heard good things about Vox, I have also heard that when it comes to reliabilty the Cubes are much better. This, however, is not from personal experience just through other reviews and threads.

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

I have had a 30 watt Vox AD30VT since they first came out. I have hauled it back and forth to and from school a hundred times and dozens of students have banged around on it, knocked it over, dropped crap on it (and in it), and accidentally kicked that grill repeatedly. Those knobs have been twisted for hours at a time during guitar club meetings when kids are messing with it. It has never stopped working perfectly. I got my money's worth out of that thing years ago.

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

Another vote for the Vox here.

It seems like everyday I recommend one to someone. A great amp regardless if its played quiet or LOUD.

If you're mostly into overdrive tones, get an XL. What the other poster said about avoiding the 10" speaker is true. I demo'd the AD15VT vs. the AD30VT, and surprisingly, the 8" speaker in the 15 sounded way better and more natural. This was way before I discovered no one else liked the 10" either.

Even tho the AD15VT does every thing I need, I like it so much, I'm gonna get a XL.

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

I'd say the Vox. I have a AD60VTX and it's great. The VTX's are discontinued, and you might find them cheap. I got mine at GC's Labor Day Sale for a good price.

Also the VTX's are built much differently than the regular VT's, and that's for the better. You get 8 banks of 4 channels instead of just 2 channels, but the footswitch would be more expensive. The effects section is also more robust, with different sections for modulation, reverb, delay, and stomp.

And another big difference is that the "valve reactor" is placed at a different position in the chain. The line and headphone outs on the VTs are BEFORE the "valve reactor" and on the VTX, the outs are AFTER. So if you ever want to use the line out, you get better tone from the VTX.

I'd suggest looking for one of those. I scored it for $300. I think AD50VTs are about $380?

I wasn't aware of this. That explains a lot. I've always loved the tone I get out of the head/cab, but whenever I used the head only for direct recording, the high-gain tones sounded fizzly. Why in the world did Vox decide to change that?

That said, the Vox Valvetronix series is very impressive, whichever you go with -- if you do go that route, that is.

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

I LOVE my Cube. I played both extensivel;y before purchasing. eventually it came down to this for me:
#1 I could dial in tones I liked fastest with the Cube
#2 I liked th overall sound - I am a "Boss" fan
#3 It had the models I found most useful - just didn't need that many Vox/Marshall sounds. One good classic Marshall and the 5150 covers most of my needs!
#4 Less complexity in the effects - while I'd love to tweek ala Vox, I really am trying to focus on PLAYING! (see also #1)
#5 Cost was better

I can see why people like the Vox though. One I didn't like was the Line6 Spyder...

Re: VOX AD50VT vs. ROLAND CUBE60

I liked both, but I bought the Vox. It just sounded more amp like to me. I had been playing through a Digitech GNX3 and a power amp, that sounded good but was always missing something. The Vox is easy to use, sounds great, and has only the stuff you really need.
