I snagged the 4x6V6 1x12 version off ebay a while back for half list price. I put some new power tubes in it. I've played this amp a lot. It's cathode biased which I like a lot. It's got a very good master volume set up for late night distortion, good Celestion speaker in it. The reverb could be a bit more swampy for my tastes but dang this is a very nice amp. Very blackface-ish. But with that cathode biased thing doing on.
I've not played the EL84 version, but it's even les expensive. I'd highly recommend this one to give a try if you get the chance. Sure it has circuit boards in it, but for $500-600 on ebay, a steal. Although a matched set of 6V6's added to that price.
