Vox question

I have been totally GASin lately for a Vox or some other class A amp. Someone point me in the right direction. I prefer 15-50 watt amps with 1 12' or 2 '10s. I only have about $1000 to spend. I am open to all.

Re: Vox question

u could go for a laney vc-30 212 or like suggested before an AC30CC just remeber they won't be the same as a classic 60's Vox (but they r a lot cheaper) and maybe change the speakers to celestion blue alnico bulldog speaker for the classic vox sound (be carful they r only 15 watts each though)

Re: Vox question

<SHAMELESS PLUG MODE> I am building an amp called the Franklin. 2xEL84, 3x12AX7, supposedly rated at 15 watts, but it's pushing a tad more than that. It's sort of an AC15 meets Matchless LIghtning with the lower end tweaked out. Class A, handwired point to point. Quality components, made in USA wherever possible.

Stained wood or tolex covered 1x12 combo cab. Gain, Bass,Treble and Master Volume. 4, 8 and 16 ohm outputs. Can be tweaked for more clean headroom with a rectifier tube change.

This amp kicks ass. 48 hour approval period, return it no questions asked. Just pay the shipping.

Sorry, I just got home from being out of town and went out and plugged into it. This amp just kills me. I was thinking of adding reverb to it, but it just doesn't need it. I'm afraid reverb would mess up some of that jangly chime thing it has going on. I might try at some point, but it's tweaked out pretty good right now. My first cab will be here next week from swanson and I can get the speaker choice finished up. Sorry to be so geeked out. :)
