Vox Tonelab - SE versus LE tone

Something Cool
I'm in the market for a Vox tonelab, and the SE model has been replaced by the LE model (one pedal less but a few improvements elsewhere).

Now, I am familiar with the differences in spec, and while I would prefer to have two pedals I can live with one. But I am a little paranoid about "upgraded" sound items, the second try often comes out more than a little changed on the tone (I remember the Juno 60 to Juno 106 disaster if you know what I mean).

Did anybody compare the SE and the LE one to one?

Re: Vox Tonelab - SE versus LE tone

i've owned them both and the se is a definite improvement. it's quieter and has a metal distortion now. it really is a great sounding product. if you like the se, then i'm confident that you will love the le. it's even an attractive looking pedal too.

the only issue i have with it is that you have to be VERY careful about your gain, level and eq settings. it can get noisy and sound kind of crappy, so it's best to start off with very low levels of everything and increase them one by one to find good tones.

I'm not sure I'm parsing this correctly. The LE is the new product. You mean the LE is an improvement, right?
