vox tonelab SE

Looking for Real Life
it seems pretty good to me, worth the money, like a vox head in pedalboard form, my only concern is this - it's DIGITAL. So I'm worried about too much compression, and a thin, non-analog sound. Basically what i want is tubish sounding cleans comming from a solid state, plus good distortion & delay & all that, will this unit suffice or is there another better-suited option, that's not buying a different amp

Re: vox tonelab SE

Dude the tonelab sounds awesome. Pretty close sounding to real tube amps, I'm very impressed with it. When I got mine I put my Pod XT on ebay immediately because I couldn't stand to use it anymore, it sounded like crap compared to the tonelab.

I say try it out first and you'll see what I mean, it does exactly what you are describing above. Has some really good high gains too.

Re: vox tonelab SE

i love my tonelab... the only reason i didnt get the SE is because it seems too big for how I would use it with my computer. It seems easier to mess raound with the knobs in the smaller unit than having the bigger unit to mess with.

Re: vox tonelab SE

Dude, the tonelab is pretty wicked - although I won't be putting my XT up on ebay just yet... =) That tube is no bull****, it really does add a little depth to the whole thing. I don't think you could go wrong getting it - stop it, you're thinking too much. Listen closely to what I'm saying - your eyes are getting sleepy, when you wake up, you must go out, buy toy, have fun... =)
