Vox VC-12 inbound!!!

I will soon have the foot controller that will control two AD120VTH heads. I now own two AD120VTH heads. If only I had enough cabs to run them both in stereo...:headbang:

Re: Vox VC-12 inbound!!!

I'll bet your having more fun playing at reasonable volumes than ever before.

Even as a tube snob, I've come to realize modelers are just another useful tool.

Re: Vox VC-12 inbound!!!

Man, I can't WAIT to pick up the crappy old marshall valvestate cab I have and a couple of Samson stereo EQ's to run the effects loops with. The EQ's help mitigate the sonic damage done by running it at lower volumes. You can up the highs and the bass and really get that marshall roar at insanely low volumes.

Re: Vox VC-12 inbound!!!

You've got me thinking about how I could make the ultimate low volume wall of stacks! Plug my Valvetronix head into the Bogner 4-12 and Jubilee straight 4-12 cab. Then, use a Roland SRV2000 rack reverb in the FX loop. You could have a humongous sound that sounds like you're in a stadium, and only be on the 15W setting on the Vox modeler. And with all those amps to choose from, coming from 8 speakers in high quality cabs!

For playing out, I'd always use my Bogner head, but at home, the Vox could get it done. Even better if the 4-12's are spread wide, to create a huge stereo field. I've never had a better home rig than the AD60VTH head.

Re: Vox VC-12 inbound!!!

I know chorus isn't everyone's pal, but Arion made a killer little unit (expensive though) that is stereo and has a depth knob and a tone knob on it. This allows you to dial in the amount of chorus you want and also tame some of the 80's sheen the unit produces for a much more subtle effect. Could be really cool in very small doses.

Eventually I plan on bi-amping through the VC-12. Use the foot controller to set the patch and each patch number will have different amp models running at the same time. Say a fender blackface meets dumble clean or a marshall 80's model meets SLO-100. That would just be killer IMHO.
