Alot of folks think that Hendrix plugged into his fuzz first and then into his wah,but several pictures show him clearly plugged into the wah first....
I've tryed both and I think Hendrix's wahs might have had a "buffer" circuit installed in his wahs by electronics guru Roger Mayer?
The reason I say this is because a wah running into a fuzz just doesn't work..It sounds terrible because the wah just doesn't have enough balls or the buffering required to run into the fuzz, plus the fuzz circuit suffers from the same problems...
I've also tryed running into a fuzz first and then into the wah and I hate the way that works also....
The only modern day solution for vintage voiced wahs is to install a "buffer" into the wah...I've used the "foxRox" circuit and it does allow you to plug into the wah first and then into your fuzz....I'm not currently using a fuzz, simply because I don't like the way a wah and fuzz sound together.....There's too much coloration of my wah tones with the fuzz engaged...
The other day I was asking if this is still a problem with the "Tweak Fuzz" but I got no answers on it? :smack:
Check out 3 great shots of Hendrix and you'll see his coiled guitar cord going into a Vox wah before it goes to his Fuzz Face and the other effects...I still say Roger Mayer was the guru behind Hendrix's effects and he figured out ways to make it all work for Jimi....
