Wah pedal mods!?!?

Well im new here, been lurking for awhile, time to ask somequestions....

I have a Dunlop GCB-95 crybaby wah, i have no idea how old it is, but i hate it! So i got to thinking, if i modded it, could i save some money and not have to buy a new wah....

First of all, is it really truebypass? I have had people tell me it is, and others tell me it isnt....

Second, is it hard to mod the pedal yourself, or would i be better off sending it to someone (but that would mean a fee)

Also, http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.castledine/greenfuz/wah.html...Are these instructions decent? Or will i end up screwing my wah pedal? Or post a link if you have a page with better instructions...

Another thing, from the link above, which mods would you personally, get done and why, cause frankly, i have no idea what many of them do...

Last, i think i need a new pot or something, when the wah pedal is engaged and i have the voume rolled off, and when i rock back and fourth it makes a *wisha* *wisha* sound as i rock it, can someone confirm this and what will i need to do to fix it?

Cheers, :)

Welcome to the absolute best site of this kind in the universe!

Go to www.tubesandmore.com and buy yourself a Fulltone pot and fulltone inductor and a good quality DPDT switch for your wah...This will make your wah have better vocal tone and more sweep, plus it'll fix your worn out scratchy pot problem....Go to www.fulltone.com and print the drawing on how to do true bypass to your wah...

And yes...True bypass is true bypass if you use the DPDT switch and wire it correctly...In bypass, the signal goes into the input jack right through the switch and right out the output jack...Without the DPDT switch your signal always goes through the entire wah circuit first and this steals output and highend down the line...

I love http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.castledine/greenfuz/wah.html for some basic wah mods. They're pretty easy to do and they work really well.

That's a great website and it gives you an idea of where to make some changes in your wah, but,it's better to trust your ears and experiment with different values of things also...That way you come up with "your own" rendition of a modded wah....There is an endless amount of wah mods you can do..

You can also use a pot in place of a fixed resistor because a pot is just a variable resistor....You do have to know how to wire up the pot(s) of course..
