Just my opinion, but the Vox 847 is the best wah in that price range...Get one on E Bay for less than $100.

Re: wah recommendations?

I used a Dunlop Crybaby for about 10 years, and picked up a Morley Bad Horsie about 2 years ago... haven't looked back. For anyone who doesn't know, the Bad Horsie is switchless. It's spring-loaded, just step on it, do your wah-thing, and when you're done, take your foot away, it shuts off. Plus, there's no pot to wear out and start sounding all scratchy. I had to replace the pot about 2 years after I got the Crybaby, and it cost enough that if I replaced it again (which it needs), I might as well buy a whole new pedal.

The Bad Horsie is definitely NOT vintage voiced, if that's what you're after. However, it's a kick ass, easy to use, great sounding wah. It'd be a great one to get started with, and if you decide you like wah pedals, you wouldn't need to step up to a "real" one. If you can't tell, I really like this thing :)
