I don't have any experience with the V845. I have a V847 that I use and love...but it has no power jacket. I have used batteries and the 9V adapters.

I like that the V845 has a power supply. Are the differences tone-wise drastic? I was not a fan of the V847A. That was a completely different tone than it's name suggests.

I use a Clyde, with power, so I guess I'm not much help. My Clyde uses NOS VOX / Mil components from the 1960's, though. Has more sweep than the Vox/CryBaby pedal design. Tone-wise, sounds like a famous record, or two, or more.

Neither are true bypass, but are easy to convert. That'll make both sound better.

For me, a power jack on a wah is essential.

845 = Base Model Dunlop CryBaby
They sound nearly identical.

847. They make 9v battery eliminator plugs that you can have come out the side of the baseplate and attach to power. Visual So...I mean TrueTone makes a part like this.

If it's the same as the Crybaby base I'll just stick with the 847 then. I use a buffer pedal to help with any tone loss, but I can always get it modded down the road. True bypass and jack will be the biggies.

No reason to farm the work out to someone else. The true bypass mod is quick and easy on a Vox, as you don't have to do any wiring on the PCB, like you do with Dunlops.

Interesting! My 847 sounds nothing like my crybaby. I didn't realize the circuits were that different between 845/847.

It's the drill needed to make a hole for the mounting jack. :)

I didn't realize the true bypass mod did not involve the PCB. I had just assumed it did.

Mounting jack for what? Not needed for true bypass, you just replace the foot switch with a DPDT. You use the existing wires and just have to add one; they all go to the switch. There's pics and videos online. I did it to an 847, pretty easy.

If you use a TPDT switch (for an LED), then you'd need to drill a hole.
