Waiting for a set of Seymour Duncan pick ups since December 10 - patience is a virtue - Ive had a guitar apart for 2 months now and I'm beginning to wonder if the Seymour Duncan schematic is even right when it called for 3 - 250K pots for use with the 3 hum buckers that are single coil - since most hum buckers use 500K pots I went and installed the lower resistant pots like the schematic advised and am wondering if it will be too bright. Job here with patience still waiting …. I know there are some luthiers out there that take a year to make a set of pickups and charge twice that of what Seymour does but I do have other guitars that I must get to and I don't like having too many apart at one time - I've got 3 apart at this time and would like to progress into playing these guitars again…..Patience is a virtue but than again I may die tonight waiting for these pickups and I don't think Seymour will attend my funeral and give me my 500 bucks back unless I invite Black Sabbath to the funeral and call it … ELECTRIC FUNERAL - ELECTRIC FUNERAL - ELECTRIC FUNERAL …. STILL WAITING … Oh God please let me live …...

Sorry man, I ordered in December and didn't hear a work from SD...eventually just asked for my money back and got a super fast refund.
Others have not had any issues but sounds like you had the same experience I had. I've gone a different direction on my Strat and have gone with another company for for my new Tele Project.

Hey Mincer - LokoJo here saying that I ordered Pearly Gate single coil hum buckers from the custom shop with red bobbins -they are sold as a set for $420 and have separate adjustable poles - very hard to get and I do not think any one else is making them at this time. The pickups are wax potted and use the alnico 2 magnets.

I wonder if they are having production problems with the single coil hum buckers - can not find anyone else making them and yet have found several schematics illustrating their use. I spoke to the secretary once last month and she did mention that Xmas did slow things down as far as production was concerned and then their was the convention in January … I am going to wait and hope they can produce this special hum bucker.

those are indeed custom shop pups. very cool stuff! between christmas, namm and the fact that there are only two or three people winding in the custom shop im not surprised they are backed up a little. ive been waiting for some pups since november. patience will be rewarded eventually. i have a handful of custom shop pups and they are the best pups i own

Have you received any communication from SD since you paid for the pickups?
I understand patience is a virtue, but decent communication with your customers is a must, especially when you've tried all avenues to get a hold of them.
Normally I would suggest calling the company; however, no one ever returned my calls at SD. Becky Lawrence did the same thing; although she responded to my messages a month later. Seems to be an industry standard for the main pickup manufacturers. The one man shop I went with for my Tele pickups responded within an hour and has had incredible communication.
I love SD pickups and will continue to purchase their regular models but won't be using the custom shop ever again.

as i said, the custom shop is two or three people. the whole sd company isnt that big for the massive volume they put out. i agree communication should be better but also understand its hard on their end.
a one man operation is hungry for business and creating a good reputation. he is also doing everything so knows that he has to call jamie or email bob. no idea how things flow at duncan these days

You also have artists at NAMM who asked for a custom pickup, and since that's advertisement for the company, maybe they got bumped ahead of the line. Maybe one of the 3 winders is out sick? Maybe one of the 3 machines is down? Maybe the one Leesona is booked solid.
