I hesitate to say, but.......Humans CANNOT hear phase.
Yes it Can Be/Is a safety concern.
I hope you can get your Hi-Fi retuned to your room.![]()

I transpotred it to another room which still has a reversed polarity socket..and viola! Crunch is back to 1/2 volume..
:smack: Any readers having issues on credibility? :33:...................................:flush:Turns out I'd switched the kitchen one off instead...should've been the one next to that. Did'nt realize that till I decided to double-check a while ago after reading the last couple of posts here
The thing is I used one of those tester/screwdrivers before I started to make sure the socket was dead & it did'nt light up (was'nt working maybe or I did'nt make proper contact..). That's how I thought I had the right circuit breaker..

I hesitate to say it but ... this thread is starting to remind me that some "audiophiles" pay thousands of dollars for a pair of RCA cables and power cables. No further comment on that other than to say that I went into the wrong line of work ...
Honestly, the most basic thing with floorstanders (or any speakers) is that you don't just throw them where you please. Everyone positions them a bit and/or angles them in a bit till they sound tight/ in phase. Nothing "audiophile" about that at all :rolleyes
Humans can't hear phase but an electrical circuit can behave differently depending on how the outlet is wired, and that's something you can hear.I hesitate to say, but.......Humans Cannot Hear phase.

OK, you're at the line. Don't cross the line and get insulting.:smack: Any readers having issues on credibility? :33:...................................:flush:
OK :27:OK, you're at the line. Don't cross the line and get insulting.
There's a difference between hearing the phase of power itself vs the phase of power causing the amp to function differently, at which point you're hearing the function not the phase itself.I have never met Anybody that could hear the difference between:
out in out in out in out in out in out in out in
vs.
in out in out in out in out in out in out in out
People SAY they hear all kinds of things, including:
Phase
Dielectric
Solid vs Stranded
Paper vs Plastic
Three feet of 18 AWG vs 16 AWG
etc etc
The truth is what you can pick form a blind test.....10 times out of 10.
Well, it looks like there's a bit more going on inside that amp than just tubes. What would be an example of that .......
Not relevant to my comment but I think I hit a nerve. So, how much did you pay for your RCA interconnects?![]()
I am Not looking to make a big argument out of this, but..............I am just not convinced that any of it's import is audible.
good luck
