Wanna thicken up my tone a little more

Heya All,
I'm currently using a MIM Strat with a Lil Screamin Demon in the bridge. While I do like my sound, I think I wanna beef it up a little bit. Any suggestions?

You can hear what I'm currently getting at http://www.superswamp.com Just click the link at the top right to open the music player.

While I like the tone, I think it can be a bit more substantial in the "meat" factor, perhaps more mid response from the pickup. I think I'd like slightly more output too. I don't want high output, and my three favorite players favore(d) low output (Eddie, Yngwie, Lynch). But my playing style is extremely aggressive at times, ala Zakk Wylde, and I know he's an EMG player. Is it possible to incorporate all this with one bridge pickup?

One caveat is that it must clean up nicely simply by rolling down the volume pot. The clean sounds on this recording (tracks 2 and 3) were all done this way as I don't use a separate clean channel.

I have been thinking about either beefing my gain a little and going with a JB, or perhaps feeding my Van Halen fixation with a '78 model. I listened to the Custom Custom, but that didn't do it for me. I'm ok with swapping out the pickguard to go with a traditional sized humbucker, so no worries there.

Any suggestions?????

oh...I was thinking Hot Rails, but you don't want an over the top hot pickup...Tone Zone and Invader sound huge, but they're full size, and they're hot. Single coil sized or full size?

Re: Wanna thicken up my tone a little more

try a full size bucker, i think youll like the difference

That '78 would be my way to go, or perhaps Pearly Gates if I'd need more bite.

Re: Wanna thicken up my tone a little more

Personally, I'd put a small capacitor in parallel with the pickup to lower the resonance frequency a little. Just for an experiment.

I have the Li' Screamin' Demon in an Ash Blazer (Strat) and it sounds very good, but I'm not into really fat tones.

Re: Wanna thicken up my tone a little more

Get the full sized Demon and perhaps consider going up a string guage.

other stuff you'd like? like would you like the low end to be tighter, or a smoother pickp, etc.?
