Re: Want to refinish my old ibanez ex160
That I got my wall hangers and have stared at it for a few days I don't want to go the tee route with it. I want to make it a "pretty" guitar plus it still needs some work so why not make it both pretty and an awesome player. It deserves it. I wasn't that great to this axe. I broke the neck on it tripping wasted and landing on it. glued her up and surprised after all these years I could get the neck straight again. Same couple frets need to get knocked down that were always a problem. Tone pot is frozen and two of the tuning pegs have dents in them which make them grindy. Input jack is sloppy too.
I figured (rough quick pricing) I could redo the whole thing, watching the 2nd hand market, for about $200 over the next few months. Pickups, tuners, tone pot, input jack, knobs, the fabric top, and even redoing the inlays with avalone. It's worth it to me and I think she'll be pretty killer all done up.
Same here, all I wear are band shirts and i have probably over 100 of them and some are retired. I wear a medium, and i think there would be enough to do the front of the guitar with that size shirt.
At any rate, if you decide to use a t-shirt, let me know cause my buddy just got a T-shirt press and he is making custom shirts, so whatever you want let me know and ill get it for you on the cheap.
Edit, I could have him print it on an xxxl shirt and put the print lower down so that you have the whole shirt to use as material and the arm pit area doesnt hold you back on positioning it, and therefore position the print so it flows well on the guitar.
Just a thought.
