Preferrably cheap :smokin: But even if they're not cheap, ask first :D

Re: WANTED: Four 12" Speakers!!!

Well, I recommend you look for four 8-ohm speakers and wire them in series/parallel for a total load of 8 ohms (we'll worry about what that means after you get them). I suggest looking for used Celestion and Eminence speakers that are not the "popular" models. Models like the G12-65 are not in great demand, but are still good speakers.

You can save money if you buy speakers that have small holes in the cones. People often let them go cheap if they are unaware that they're easy to repair.

Mismatched speakers can be a good thing provided you keep a few things in mind. 1) Impedance should all be the same. You can make 8 or 16-ohm units work, but don't mix them. 2) The powerhandling is determined by the lowest-rated speaker. If you put three 50-watt speakers and one 15-watt speaker in there, you'll blow up the 15 watter, since all the speakers will split the 100 watts evenly, 25 watts each. 3) The efficiency (sensitivity) should be approximately equal. Given equal amounts of power a new Eminence with 101 dB efficiency will drown out an old Ccelestion with 96 dB efficiency.

Sorry to say I don't have any surplus 12's right now, but good luck with the search.

A four-12 combo amp. I hope it has wheels. Here's a thought: get a couple of 60-watt or so speakers and put them in diagonally. Make them 16 ohms in this case.

Love the fake alligator tolex, BTW.

Re: WANTED: Four 12" Speakers!!!

hehe... thanks for the offers, but Zerb, are you still in germany? And JD, despite the post Rich made (the useful post) I think I'll stick with buying 4 in a matched set ;) But still... name a price. I might just wire it up for 2 speakers, since I don't need to blow anyone's eardrums out :laugh2:

By the way, do you still need locking tuners? I just got a bunch of sperzel lockers I'll never use and you can have free whatever the case is...

(one is missing the locking screw :smack: We trade quality **** eh :D)

And I do love the tolex :D

Re: WANTED: Four 12" Speakers!!!

I have a set of four matched CELESTION G12-30 MG removed from my Marshall MG412 cab. 30 or 40 hours playing time only. I converted my cab to stereo and had to get 16 ohm speakers, so I removed these 8 ohm speakers.

$100 plus freight. Will ship in Celestion boxes.

Yeah, I´m still in Germany, but I have nearly direct access to the US postal system, so shipping shouldn´t be more than from a US bro. These are a matched set, btw. They were in my 4x12 for about 3 years. Lmk if you´re interested ;)
