Sounds good! Whatever you come up with is cool. I might add more but it will depend on where the solo takes it!

Re: Wanted: soloist

I guess i was planning on putting a solo in the piece, not necessarily having it be a giant solo. And i calmed it down a bit for variety....don't know how i feel about it....that might be an outro

Re: Wanted: soloist

I loved that!!! Can you send me the .wav for the solo, starting at measure 1 of the song?

I changed my mind and will just keep it, you don't need it. It's for the best, it wasn't probably right for your piece. Good luck.

But if you end up actually needing it after all is said and done, let me know and I'll send it to you but for now fuggetaboutit.

Okay, well then I'll ask you to A) follow the licensing rules that I posted if you decide to keep it up or B) Take it down

I was ultimately having a levels issue... ever since I switched to a dual tone set-up, my combined output has been a little lower than with just a single tone. I couldn't get the level of my guitar track to match the level of the mix.

Great backing track though. The bells or whatnot that is the sort of winding circular percussion is just brilliant. The driving and pounding chordal rhythm reminds me of the electronica band Ratatat on steroids. Like I said, brilliant piece of music.

If I can get the levels right, I'll resend it.

Re: Wanted: soloist

You've been nothing but gracious to me sir.

Well, I sorted out the level issues more or less... it's not perfect, but it's a whole lot better. I've got the mix in MP3, so you can hear how much better it sounds. The unaccompanied solo is in WAV form so you can just download it from Soundcloud. I added a sort of build-up out of samples 'cause I am weird like that, you can probably fade it up if you don't want to use it, but it fits and sounds really cool.

Full Mix

Isolated Solo (starts at 10 seconds... place the beginning on the 10 second marker in your timeline and it will be in sync)

Re: Wanted: soloist

That's some awesome **** Vash and Zen!

I still am obviously sucking at getting this done. I'll let you know when the suckage ceases.

USB recording is a b***h. I was having problems with cut-outs during the recording of that piece. I was wanting to do some more takes, but just had to stick with what I had laid down while warming up and figuring things out.

I don't know what Vash used, but I played mine with a 35th Anniversary JB.

Oh and with strings that were put on new in 2007... 5 years old and still giving off really good tone.

Dean Markley Blue Steel.

Re: Wanted: soloist

Sorry man....Consider it done:)
Thanks for letting us try it!
Niels

no problemo! If you ever feel the desire to do another take on it, feel free...that goes for any track! I try to post everything under Creative Commons so its up for grabs and if its not labelled that way, it is supposed to be!
