Re: warm thick tone for.....

I want to say the Custom Custom but it depends on the guitar. In a semi hollowbody "warm and thick" describes it perfectly but in my solid body Hamer I felt it could have had a little deeper bass.

The JB is certainly thick! I'm not sure warm describes it fully as the JB does have that peak in the mids that sounds bright...even tho there are other humbuckers that have more extended highs and more in the way of upper harmonics.

I guess I'll go along with the JB recommendation tho. I've put the Jazz N/JB and 59N/JB in a few Epiphone Les Pauls (including an Epi LP Custom) and it sounded great. You'll probably love it.

I'd say the Rio Grande BBQ is warmer and thicker than the JB and a lot of this depends on the amp you have. I find with a tube amp the JB will kill. Fow my modelling amp which I use live....I need DEEP and full bass like I get form the BBQ. I would also say from what I hear on the forum, the Duncan Custom might be good or if you want to venture over to Dimarzio - the Air Zone or Tone Zone.
