warm up time/on time tube amps

darnright

How long should I let the tubes warm up in any tube amp before playing? How long should I leave them on before shutting them off. For instance, I've only got 15 minutes to play, warm tubes for 2-3 minutes, play for 12, then shut amp off, is this ok, or hard on tubes. What would be best for sound and tube life?
My tube amps are H&K Tri-amp combo, Peavey Classic 50
4X10, Laney PT30MV 2X12 cab, Fender blues jr and a Vox AC30CCH 2X12 cab.
thanks for all the help now and in the past.

Re: warm up time/on time tube amps

Anywhere from about 30 seconds is fine i think, i typically give them a minute or two. Saying this my amp does seem to sound better the longer its had to warm up.

+1 Both of mine really sound great after they've been on a couple of hours. I do about a 60 second warmup usually.

Yeah, the longer I play my amp the more open the tone gets. I get a bit more volume out of it too.
