everyones ears are different but the ssl5 isnt very sparkly to me. granted im coming from a vintage output/tonal place so they sound dark and thick to me. the hs2 is low output for sure, most old style stacks like that are, but not all that much lower than a vintage strat pup for example. i do really like the ssl5 though, great pup
