Re: Warmoth Appreciation

Here's my '58 Strat replica. 2 pc Alder body. Weighed in a just under 4lbs. Warmoth Maple Neck with 9.5" radius, Clapton "V" neck profile, Tusq nut, and 6100 fret wire. The hardware and electronics are from Callaham. I went with the Special Wind pickups and Blender Pot on the 2nd tone control.

This is my first attempt at loading an image, so hopefully this shows up!

I have an air guitar that looks exactly like that!

Re: Warmoth Appreciation

IN my book, Warmoth is a damn sight better than all the rest. Ive had nothing but bad luck with USACG and Ive got plenty of stuff of their..too much ( twisted necks, stripped trussrods, bad fretwork, off kilter neck pockets ). You may say itrs cause I bought the stuff used and I did, but Ive had just as mucjh and more warmoth used stuff that was excellent, so my expereince is hardly conclusive evidence, but for me, its quite enough that I will only buy Warmoht in the future.

I've received nothing but *fantastic* pieces from USACG. I'd definitely say buying used is a likely reason you've had bad luck. But, my first Warmoth neck is pretty great as well, so I'd recommend both with confidence.

Crap...this is why I play guitar and not computers. Started a photobucket account just for this reason. Why can't things be a simple as attatching the photo from my pictures folder???? Rant over, I'll try again later...

Re: Warmoth Appreciation

Hey dano, i've been to jacksonville a few times while travelling with my friend. We've always failed to find anything good to do. You know about where to find punk shows or anything like that? Oh sorry, thats kind of irrelative to the thread. Good luck posting your pics man. I actually don't have a warmoth, but I love custom guitars.

Re: Warmoth Appreciation

I'm to lazy right now to post pics of my guitar. Screw it.

It is the one my cat is sniffing. I made the body, Warmoth made the neck. The one thing I really dislike about Warmoth is that they barely give you any real neck options unless you get Warmoth Pro, which I hate because I despise the side-adjusting truss rod (so I actually left some wood on both sides of the neck pocket to cover it up) and I just want a normal head adjusting truss rod. But Noooooooo, I can't have that Locking nut or binding i want because it isn't Warmoth Pro. Pretty stupid if you ask me and not very "custom". I think they would get a lot more business if the customers had more custom options that are already offered on very similar pieces. Seriously you barely need to make any adjustments to route for a Floyd Rose nut on a Vintage Modern neck.

No offense man, but you must not be very familiar with CNC programming. It would actually take a LOT of work to reprogram the machine that makes the necks. Besides, Warmoth has been around for more around 35 years - if they weren't doing it right, they'd be out of business by now. And if you don't like their options so much, why not vote with your wallet and buy from someone else?

Well they probably do this double truss rod business to lower their return rate. But they are losing some of my business over it since I don't think they sound good.

Re: Warmoth Appreciation

I'm with UOpt , the pro neck may function better but they don't sound as good as the other two offered.
My only beef with Warmoth is that their pricing is starting to get out of hand.

lol

I really like it anyways, but probably not as much as that fluffy cat lol

Edit: Their finish prices are what actually kills me, but their prices aint my business...

Edit 2: Good or bad? lol

We've discussed this before but I'll say it again. It is not a double rod, like what Rickenbacker used. It is a double expanding truss rod. It's actually anchored to the neck like a vintage rod here where the double rod is not.

You also have the option of getting a neck with a vintage style truss rod yet the same specs otherwise as the Pro.
