Anyone had experience with the Warmoth "Hollow" strat bodies? They have alot of small cavities inside them, which is supposed to give a fatter tone and ligther weigth without giving feedback problems!

Here's a pic:

So, old buddy old pal, how would you describe the sound? Any clips?

I'm considering using a hollow strat body for my warmoth project, but i'm afraid that i'll get excessive feedback problems. Have you?

Thanks,

Re: Warmoth "Hollow" Strat bodies...

i haven't found them to feedback anymore than a solid body. Probably due to being fully closed up. If i were to speculate anything, i would guess they might feedback less than a solid body, because of the whole "less wood, less sustain" thing. But, that is pure speculation.

The overwhelming majority of the tunes on my website feature my seafoam green hollow strat. The only things that aren't are, obviously the acoustic gtrs, the jazz clip @ the bottom, & the slide/ebow part on the top tune..

How much does the hollow chambering affect tone? Is it anything like a Thinline?

I ordered a hollow swamp ash Tele from Warmoth four weeks ago - should be here soon!

Warmoth actually claims that the chambers IMPROVE sustain. http://www.warmoth.com/guitar/bodies/strat.cfm?fuseaction=strat_hollow

I have a chambered LP body from them which is in the process of being finished. I will be sure to give the forum my full report when it's done.

Sustain here and sustain there... what's up with the need for sustain? :D

The more sustain you have, the more chicks you score with. It's a proven fact.
