Warmoth questions

Yeo I got some xmas $$ and I'm gonna be able to finish my #1 Hhh Strat. The pups and neck are dialed, it needs a body, bridge, and pickguard. I'd like to ax your opinion if I should paint it red with a cream pickguard or blue with a mint green pickguard. The other question is this the correct bridge to get?

The body is a hardtail and the bridge setup is the 6 holes for the strings and 3 holes to mount. They call it Vintage Strat Flat Mount. I already have saddles that I'm happy with in case the ebay ones are bad. I might need your halp with painting and finishing the body too.

Of your two choices, I say red with cream guard.

I'll have to leave the bridge question to others... I'm no good with that. When I did my Warmoth strat, I had a forum bro spray the transparent white and then nitro it. There are some good places to send a guitar to be finished professionally..... but it's not cheap.

Cool. I'm thinking about painting several coats with a brush and then sanding to 220s or so and leaving it at a matte finish.

You need to make sure the mounting holes and string through holes are in the right order.
Also the string spacing is on the ad - make sure thats right for you.

Why not snag a finished body out of the showcase? I got that thinline body for under $300 shipped.

Depending on the bridge pickup your going to use, if it is a Gibson pole piece width humbucker, use a narrow saddle bridge. If it is trem spaced saddle bridge, use a trem spaced humbucker pickup. If you do not heed this advice, your pickup pole pieces/screws will not line up with the strings. I personally own several Warmoth partscaster builds and I recommend them.

Sorry to derail a bit, but has anyone tried the right handed reverse Strats? I went through all the trouble of convincing Warmoth to put reverse angled bridge pickup on the right hand reverse pickguard, then I never got around to buying one.

Thanks. I think it's making sense. On the body, I got the regular vintage strat string spacing and not the narrow bridge string spacing. Also, for the ebay bridge, it says it's for 52.5 string spacing. I think this is correct.

Because I'm good at sanding and I think I'll be able to get it to come out nicely and choose the exact color I like for less $$.

Does anyone have any idea if a long legged baseplate will fit in the universal route for my strat body?

Eff it, I ordered several short leg baseplates to get rid of all my long ones.

I know a lot of people get turned off by the less upper fret access, but I think It could put you in a nice spot creatively. Plus ya'd stand out more.

I tried one of those Hendrix versions once just because, but would never buy such a thing.

I do like the reverse bridge pickup and longer wound strings.

I have both a strat and a Tele with a reverse slant bridge. Of course I'm lefty so the stagger is opposite too.
I find the treble on the bridge is tamed a bit, and if you went reverse headstock then the longer string length for the low E might be tightened tonally by the closer positioning of the pickup to the bridge. I have reverse headstock with regular slant and the low E can sound out very loud.

I would never consider the reverse body......I'm about playability not being compromised by looks.

It's pretty good, kinda like a big, ballsy single coil, as a P90 should be. It's got a lot of treble with a solid midrange push, but then again the guitar it's in has a lot of midrange. I tried the twin A5 combo and it was similar to the A5/A4 combo, but having the A4 gives more balance. It's not a the biggest change a mag swap could give you, but it's definitely there.

You can also try A5/A3 for a similar thing but more vintage character. I'm considering trying twin RC short bar A5s just to see what it sounds like. I'll get back to you on that.
